Frequently Asked Questions
What is dehydrated castor oil used for?
Mainly in alkyd resins, varnishes, paints and printing inks, where it behaves as a semi-drying oil and is often used in place of tung oil.
How is DCO different from regular castor oil?
Controlled dehydration removes the hydroxyl groups and creates conjugated double bonds, raising the iodine value and giving the oil film-forming (drying) properties.
